DIESEL-HYBRID SYSTEM – HOSPITAL ST. DAMIEN (HAITI)
St. Damien provides high quality medical treatment for disadvantaged and sick children in Haiti. More than half of all patients are admitted for an infectious disease such as tuberculosis, malaria orHIV, while twenty-five percent of patients are admitted for non-infectious diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease or kidney infection.
Similar to the HAS project, the hospital is burdened with high electricity costs caused by diesel generators, but is blessed with lots of sunshine and empty roof space. A PV system was installed on the roof top and an energy storage solution was installed to reduce electricity costs and increase energy reliability.
